Septic Services in Mineral Springs, NC

Mineral Springs has worked hard to stay rural: farms, horse properties, and homes on big lots between Waxhaw Highway and Pleasant Grove Road. That choice has a practical side. According to the town’s 2022 comprehensive plan, the majority of Mineral Springs doesn’t have access to public water or sewer. Union County’s lines barely reach in, apart from one that runs along Waxhaw Highway into the town center.

So in Mineral Springs, if you own a home, you almost certainly own a septic system. Dahl Septic Services is here to pump it, inspect it and fix it. Licensed and insured, NC license #9407I, with over a decade of hands-on septic experience behind our team. Call or text (704) 218-9070.

Keep the tank pumped

Rural homes tend to go the longest between pump-outs, because nothing reminds you. Then the drain field clogs, and in the soils around here that’s a real problem.

Rule of thumb: pump every 3 to 5 years. If you’ve never done it since you bought the place, now is a good time. We open the lids, pump the tank, inspect the baffles and filter, and give you a straight answer on condition. Septic tank pumping | Book online

Inspections before you buy or sell

On a farm or a multi-acre lot, finding the tank can be half the job. We use a probe and a sonde locator to pinpoint it, then inspect the tank and the drain field area, run a camera through the lines where needed, and send the written report the same or next day. Pumping during the inspection is recommended, never required.

Sellers: an inspection before listing means no surprises in the middle of a contract. Buyers: book it early in due diligence. Septic system inspections

Soil, new systems and repairs

The town’s plan includes a septic-suitability map. Much of the land around Mineral Springs is rated “somewhat limited” or “very limited” for septic, and the area east of town is called severely limited. That’s a big reason the town keeps densities low.

What it means for you:

  • New homes: the town requires soil borings by a qualified soil scientist for subdivisions on septic, and every lot has to show a drain field and a repair area. Union County Environmental Health then evaluates and permits the system. Some sites end up needing a pump or low-pressure system. New systems
  • Repairs: a failing field in tight soil needs a proper diagnosis, not just a pump-out. We find the cause and fix it, whoever installed the system. Repairs
  • Engineered systems: pump tanks, low-pressure pipe and drip systems need scheduled inspections under Union County’s operation and maintenance program. We can handle them as part of our subsurface maintenance work. Subsurface maintenance

Permits

Union County Environmental Health: 704-283-3553, unioncountync.gov. They issue septic permits and keep the records (searchable online), and they inspect your existing system before approving additions, pools, barns or other outbuildings.

“Excellent service – they decommissioned our old septic tank. They were very helpful in locating our old septic tank, had to bring in the excavator to look for it. Were prompt, on time. Very responsive to phone calls and texts. Overall great company. Highly recommend!”

FAQ

Can I hook up to county sewer in Mineral Springs?

Only where a line exists and capacity allows, and that’s a small part of town. Ask Union County Water about your parcel.

We have an old tank we don’t use anymore. What should we do?

An abandoned tank should be properly decommissioned so it can’t collapse. We do that.

Do barns or guest houses need their own septic?

Anything with plumbing needs an approved system. Union County decides whether it can share yours or needs its own.
