Septic Tank Pumping in Badin and Around Badin Lake, NC

Badin’s town limits have their own sewer. The Greater Badin Water & Sewer District, run by Stanly County Utilities, serves homes inside town. Leave town on NC 740 or follow the roads out toward the lake, and you’re quickly into septic country: lake houses, cabins and rural homes that treat their own wastewater.

We’re close by. Dahl Septic Services is based in Albemarle, a few miles southwest of Badin, and we pump, inspect, repair and install septic systems around town and the lake. Licensed and insured, NC license #9407I, and backed by our owner’s decade-plus in the septic field. Call or text (704) 218-9070.

Pumping lake and rural septic tanks

Lake homes are hard on septic systems in their own way. A house that sits quiet for weeks, then fills with family on a holiday weekend, puts a sudden load on the tank. Weekend places also tend to get forgotten when it comes to maintenance.

  • Pump every 3 to 5 years for full-time homes. For a seasonal place, plan around how heavily it’s used.
  • Pump before a big gathering, not after the backup.
  • Keep vehicles and boat trailers off the drain field.

We open the lids, pump the tank, check baffles and filters, and tell you what we see. Septic tank pumping | Book online

Inspections for Badin Lake area sales

Lake property sells with more unknowns than a house in town: older systems, additions over the years, tanks nobody has located since the original permit. Our inspection starts by finding the tank with a probe and a sonde. Then we inspect the tank and drain field area, run a camera through the lines where needed, and deliver a written report the same or next day. Pumping during the inspection is recommended, not required. Septic inspections

Repairs, replacements and engineered systems

Some lots near the lake only qualify for a pump tank or a low-pressure system once the county has done its soil and site evaluation, rather than a conventional gravity field. We repair and replace both kinds. New systems and replacements start with a Stanly County site evaluation. Repairs | New systems

Pump and low-pressure systems need regular operator visits. We can take that on as subsurface maintenance.

Stanly County permits

Septic permits and records come from Stanly County Environmental Health (704-986-3675). New applications go through the county’s Central Permitting office and online portal (704-986-3667). You can search existing septic permits online by tax record number. Homes built before 1973 often have no record on file.

Part of Badin Lake’s shoreline is in Montgomery County. Montgomery County properties are permitted by that county’s health department, not Stanly’s.

“This company was a dream to deal with. They let me know when they would be there, they showed up when they said they would and they were reasonably priced. They also let me know that I did not have a filter and came back once I told them that I would like to have one put on. If I ever have another need, I will be using this company.”

Badin septic questions

Is my Badin home on sewer?

If it’s inside town limits, probably. The district serves the town. Outside town limits, most homes are on septic. Your utility bill will tell you.

Can you pump a tank at a lake house we only use in summer?

Yes. Tell us the access situation (gate, steep drive, lid location if known) when you book.

Who permits septic on the Montgomery County side of the lake?

Montgomery County’s health department.
