Septic Tank Pumping in Norwood and Lake Tillery, NC

Norwood sits between two rivers: Lake Tillery on the Pee Dee to the east, the Rocky River to the west. In town, homes are on Norwood’s water and sewer system. Around the lake and out in the countryside, homes are mostly on septic. That includes lake houses, fishing cabins and farmhouses along US 52 and NC 24/27/73.

Dahl Septic Services works out of Albemarle, up US 52 from Norwood. We pump, inspect, repair and install septic systems across southern Stanly County. Licensed and insured, NC license #9407I. Our owner has over a decade of septic experience. Call or text (704) 218-9070.

Pumping around Norwood and the lake

Lake homes come with their own challenges: steep driveways, lids nobody has seen in years, and weekend crowds that load a tank all at once. Year-round homes in the country have the opposite problem. They’re out of sight, so the tank goes unpumped for a decade.

Either way, pumping every 3 to 5 years is the baseline. We find the lids, pump the tank, check the baffles and filter, and look for warning signs like roots or water flowing back from the field. Septic tank pumping | Book online

Inspections for lake and country property sales

A Lake Tillery home might have a tank close to the water, a pump chamber sending effluent uphill, or an add-on bedroom the original permit never counted. Find out before you buy.

Our inspection: we locate the tank with a probe and a sonde, inspect the tank and any pump chamber and alarm, check the drain field area and camera the lines where needed. You’ll have the written report the same or next day. Pumping is a recommended add-on, not a requirement. Septic inspections

Repairs, replacements and pump systems

Some lake lots only work with a pump tank or a low-pressure field, and those systems need regular attention. A failed pump or a tripped alarm needs fixing quickly. We repair pumps, floats, lines and drain fields, and we replace systems once Stanly County Environmental Health has issued the permit. Repairs | New systems

“I called on a Saturday and they were able to empty our septic tank on Tuesday which was great! They were very professional and nice and I would definitely recommend them.”

Town sewer, county septic

  • Inside Norwood: the town provides water and sewer. Town code generally requires properties near a town line to connect. Ask Town Hall (norwoodgov.com) about your address.
  • Outside town: septic permits and records come from Stanly County Environmental Health (704-986-3675). Applications go through Central Permitting (704-986-3667) and its online portal. Existing permits can be searched by tax record number.
  • Across the lake: the east shore of Lake Tillery is in Montgomery County, which runs its own permitting.

Norwood FAQ

Is my lake house on sewer?

Most Lake Tillery homes outside Norwood’s town limits use septic. Your utility bill or the county’s permit search will confirm it.

My pump alarm is going off. What do I do?

Cut back on water use right away, then call or text us. The alarm means effluent isn’t moving out of the pump tank.

Do you work on the Montgomery County side of Lake Tillery?

Call and ask. We’ll tell you straight whether we can take the job.
