A lot of our repair calls are on systems another company installed or already tried to fix. If yours has been worked on and still isn’t right, call us. New systems and replacements are quoted per site. Repairs | New systems

Got a pump tank, an alarm panel or a low-pressure system? Those engineered systems need a maintenance contract under state rules. Ask about subsurface maintenance.

How septic permits work in Mecklenburg County

Septic permits for Charlotte properties come from Mecklenburg County Public Health, Groundwater and Wastewater Services (980-314-1680, eh.mecknc.gov/water). The county takes septic permit applications online through its Accela portal and keeps septic permit records you can request.

  • A repair needs a permit from the county before the work is done.
  • For a new system, the installer has to contact the county’s Environmental Specialist before installing, and again for a final inspection before the system is covered.
  • Adding on or building near an existing system? The county has a “Use Existing System” permit for that.

Most homes every 3 to 5 years. A bigger household, a garbage disposal or heavy water use means sooner.

What does a home-sale septic inspection check?

North Carolina’s point-of-sale inspection rule lists what the inspector looks at, including the tank’s condition, baffles, liquid level, how much solids have built up, any pump tank and alarm, and whether effluent is reaching the drain field.

Do I need a permit to repair a septic system in Charlotte?

Yes. Mecklenburg County issues repair permits through Groundwater and Wastewater Services.

How much does septic pumping cost in Charlotte?

It depends on the tank, the access and the drive from Albemarle. Request a quote and we’ll give you a price for your property.
