Inside Marshville’s town limits, the town runs the water and sewer. Step outside them, along US 74 toward Wingate or Anson County or out NC 205, and many homes are on their own septic systems, often with a Marshville mailing address.
Dahl Septic Services takes care of septic systems in and around Marshville: pumping, inspections, repairs and new systems. We’re licensed and insured (NC license #9407I), and our owner has more than ten years in the septic field. Call or text (704) 218-9070.
Septic tank pumping
Out in the country, tanks often go a long time without attention because the system just keeps working, until it doesn’t. Pumping every 3 to 5 years keeps solids out of the drain field, which is the expensive part to replace.
When we pump, we dig up or open the lids, pump the tank empty, and check the inlet and outlet baffles and the effluent filter. Concrete lids that haven’t been lifted in years are part of the job. Septic tank pumping | Book a pump-out
“We had a rental property with a FULL septic tank, and Dahl Septic Services came to our rescue. Within 24 hours, they had the machine in place to remove the slab top and had the tank pumped. They were in contact with me every step of the way and even confirmed pricing before the job. Smooth process from beginning to end.”

Inspections for Marshville-area home sales
Older farmhouses and newer homes on rural lots both turn up in eastern Union County sales. The systems vary, and an older home may have no permit on file at all. An inspection sorts that out:
- Tank located with a probe and a sonde
- Tank, baffles and liquid level checked, drain field area walked
- Camera run through the lines where needed
- Written report delivered the same or next day
Pumping during the inspection is a recommended add-on, not a requirement. Septic inspections | Inspections in Monroe and Union County
Repairs, new systems and subsurface maintenance
We repair broken pipes, failed pumps and drain fields that won’t take water, including systems another contractor installed. For a replacement or a new home, Union County Environmental Health does the soil and site evaluation (you’ll need a backhoe on site) and issues the permits; we install. Repairs | New systems
Pump and low-pressure pipe systems need inspections on a schedule under Union County’s operation and maintenance program. We provide subsurface maintenance. Subsurface maintenance
Town sewer or septic?
If you’re inside Marshville’s town limits, the town provides sewer, and the wastewater is sent on to Union County and Anson County treatment systems. Outside the limits, connections are possible in some places but are charged at the town’s higher outside-limits rate. Many rural homes are on septic.
Septic permits, records and existing-system inspections for additions all go through Union County Environmental Health (704-283-3553, unioncountync.gov). Town utility questions go to Marshville Town Hall (704-624-2515, marshville.org).

Older homes sometimes have none. We can locate and inspect the system so you know its size and condition.
